SERVE Outreach Program
Helping the community through our many outreach services.
The goal of the Outreach program is to meet the growing needs of the community. We accomplish this through a variety of different services which include but are not limited to the following:
The Food Pantry program provides fresh produce, canned and dry goods, as well as frozen foods and meats to clients once a month based on availability. Personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, household items, baby products and pet supplies may also be distributed pending availability. Clients must provide proof of ID every month they pick up and proof of address once every six months.
Emergency Food Program
The Emergency Food Program is provided for individuals who just can’t make it by until our next pantry. This should be utilized for extreme circumstances only. Clients may only pick up an emergency box once every six months. Clients must provide proof of ID upon pick up.
The Financial Assistance program designed to help clients who may be faced with a financial emergency. Funds typically help with utility bills and prescriptions, however other emergencies may be considered appropriate for assistance upon application. To apply clients must have proof of need (disconnect notice for utilities, prescription for medications, etc.), proof of ID for all adults in the household, social security cards for all members of the household, proof of residency (must be official mail), proof of income (including benefits such as food stamps, SSD, SSI, etc.) Clients are eligible for assistance of 75% of the bill, up to $150, once every six months.
Back to School Fair
The Back to School Fair program provides basic school supplies to any school age child residing in Callaway County regardless of their family’s income the last Saturday in July.
Adopt-A-Family is a Christmas assistance program where low income families are partnered with business, organizations and community members to provide a holiday meal with the trimmings, stockings for elderly and disabled and Christmas gifts for children up to the age of 17. Clients must provide proof of ID for all adults in the household, social security cards for all members of the household, proof of custody of the children (birth certificates, court documentation, etc.), proof of residency (must be official mail), proof of income (including benefits such as food stamps, SSD, SSI, etc.).
Car Seat Program
The Car Seat Program provides car seats for low-income families and families who have been in an accident. Clients must provide proof of ID for all adults in the household, social security cards for all members of the household, proof of custody of the children (birth certificates, court documentation, etc.), proof of residency (must be official mail), proof of income (including benefits such as food stamps, SSD, SSI, etc.).
Clothing and Household Good Voucher
Clothing and Household Good Voucher program provides clothing or household goods to clients who have faced disaster. Situations a voucher would be issued for include but are not limited to: fire, flood, domestic violence, etc. Client will need to bring proof of ID to SERVE’s main office and speak with a staff member.
Host a Food Drive
We could not do what we do without the community’s help! When you host a food drive for SERVE, all of the items you collect go directly to Callaway County residents in need. Let us know if you’re interested in hosting a food or supply drive to support our food pantry! Items requested include, but not limited to food, hygiene items, household supplies. From May to September SERVE partners with KMOU and Westlakes in Fulton to provide families with fans to help cool their homes during the summer. Anyone can apply for a fan however those in most need (i.e. individuals with medical issues, families with elderly or small children etc.) will be served first. Applicants must reside in Callaway County and are eligible for a fan every other year.
