At SERVE, Inc we believe that when we all work together, our efforts can make a huge difference in the world. Our motto “One SERVE One Mission” means just that! What We Do
We strive to meet many community needs at SERVE, Inc. through our four programs: SERVE Transportation, SERVE Outreach, SERVE Volunteer Program/ RSVP, and the SERVE Clothes Cupboard. Our Social Services Agency provides many dynamic services for Callaway County residents including financial assistance, volunteer opportunities for all ages, door-to-door public transportation, a thrift store, food pantry, supplemental school supplies, and Christmas gifts for families in need. One of our main goals is to improve the lives of others, and are we very proud of the work we do. Through our Outreach Program, we are dedicated to supporting Callaway County residents through a variety of outreach initiatives. We are always striving to make a difference and to lend a hand up when there is a need in our community. We fill those needs through a plethora of community services, including our Food Pantry, various financial assistance programs such as utility assistance and prescription assistance, our summer fan program, car seat referral program, our Adopt-a-Family Christmas gift program, and Back-to-School supplemental school supply program. If you have a need that we’re unable to fill, we’ll work to find someone who can!
Our Transportation Program combines the simplicity and ease of public transportation, with the door-to-door convenience of a taxi. With a fleet of nine wheelchair-equipped buses and two vans, we are Callaway County’s general public transportation provider. SERVE Tran transports anywhere in Callaway County and to surrounding counties. Our drivers pick you up at your front door! It’s that simple! Whether you need to get to work, to the grocery store, or to a Doctor’s Appointment, our highly trained and compassionate drivers will get you where you need to go! Our program provides an average of 3,000 one-way trips per month and travels over 22,000 miles per month. SERVE Tran transports anywhere in Callaway County and to surrounding counties. Do you use a cane, walker, or wheelchair? Riders are easily & carefully loaded onto our buses with the assistance of one of our highly-trained drivers by the safe, electronic wheelchair lifts. Even if you are not in a wheelchair, but find stairs difficult to climb, we will happily and safely guide you into the bus with our wheelchair lift. Rides must be scheduled by the day before at 3pm.

With our mission always in mind, we work tirelessly to improve the lives of individuals from all walks of life. Volunteer Work is something that we take very seriously, and work to enhance each and every day. Our Volunteer Program works to match our amazing volunteers with the perfect volunteer opportunity. Whether you are a student who needs service hours, have community service to complete, or a retired individual looking for something to do, your talents, knowledge, and expertise are so important to this community! Without volunteers, the work that we do would not be possible!
The Trends is not your average thrift store! We have been serving Callaway County for over 50 years with everything from quality clothing, to household goods, furniture and everything in between. Our locations have changed through the years, but our mission of serving others has remained the same! Proceeds from your donations or purchases help keep our social service agency running! We also work in cooperation with the American Red Cross, CARDV and other local organizations to assist individuals and families with emergency household needs at no cost.
